The Macallan Concept Series

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan is generally considered the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet. Known as the “Rolls Royce among Malts”, it is one of the best-known Single Malt Whisky brands worldwide.

The company was founded in 1824 as the Macallan Scotch whiskey and was one of the first distillers in Scotland to have a legal license for manufacturing and selling alcohol. Since then, the Distillery has grown to be one of the world’s largest single-malt whiskey manufacturers. This limited collection of annual release whiskies fuses the artistry and expertise behind The Macallan’s whisky-making with creativity and culture. Each release in the series is unique and designed to create an extraordinary taste experience.

1. Macallan Concept 1: Art: The first in a series of annual releases, and one of a flurry of expressions launched by Macallan in 2018. Inspired by the world of surrealist art, the box presents Macallan’s six pillars reimagined through a surrealist lens.
2. Macallan Concept 2: Music Released at the end of 2019 and created exclusively for global travel retail, this is the second of three whiskies that will complete the Concept Series. The second release celebrates Music. The idea for the Music bottle came from Macallan Whisky Maker Steve Bremner who by day blends whisky and by night mixes music as a DJ. The whisky itself has been matured in Sherry-seasoned casks, and then ex-Bourbon barrels.
3. Macallan Concept Number 3: David Carson The third and final release in the Concept Series. Released in mid-2021, Concept Number 3 is a collaboration between the Speyside giant and revolutionary contemporary graphic designer David Carson. The bottle was made available at Global Travel Retail outlets and The Macallan Airport Boutiques.
