Port Ellen 1979 (Gordon Macphail Connoisseurs Choice)

One of the most sought-after whiskies in the world is Port Ellen. Located on the south coast of Islay, the Port Ellen distillery operated for over 150 years before being shut down in 1983. The increasing scarcity and the distinctive deep smoky flavour profile of Port Ellen single malt, contribute to its popularity. While owner Diageo releases a limited-edition Port Ellen as part of its Annual Releases nearly every year, the majority of available Port Ellen today comes from independent bottlers. Port Ellen Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice 1979-1995 was distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1995 by Gordon & MacPhail for the renowned Connoisseurs Choice range. This older release has Gordon & MacPhail’s classic map label and comes with the original box.
