Named for the border reivers who raided indiscriminately along the Anglo-Scottish border during the mid- to late-Middle Ages, Steel Bonnets blends whiskies from both England and Scotland, constructed around a central core of Lakes Distillery single malt. This lovely expression is bottled at 46.6% ABV and is very smoky on the nose and palate, with creamy notes of vanilla as well as nuts, ginger, nutmeg and a whisper of dried fruits.
