The John Walker & Sons Celebratory Blend is based on Walker's Old Highland Whisky from the 1860s, the first to use the iconic square bottle and slanted label and includes modern stocks from distilleries that would have been operating at that time. Johnnie Walker Blue Label Legendary Eight builds on the Ghost and Rare series and is created from whiskies made at distilleries that existed 200 years ago. The aromas and flavors that might have been found in the grocer's store in the 1820s inspired the selection of rare aged stocks in the John Walker & Sons Bicentenary Blend, including Port Ellen, Cambus, and Pittyvaich.

John Walker & Sons Bicentenary Blend is a sensorial journey through the fragrant aisles of where it all began back in 1820. Master Blender Jim Beveridge OBE and his small team of expert whisky makers have drawn inspiration from the thrilling flavours listed on an original inventory from John Walker’s store. Using this as a window into the world where John started, they have meticulously crafted a complex whisky with rich layers that reimagines the kaleidoscope of exotic flavours that shaped our founder’s imagination. Rare and exceptional whiskies, including ghost stocks from the distilleries of Pittyvaich, Cambus and Port Ellen, all at least 28 years old, have been explored to craft a whisky that reimagines the exotic flavours of the 1820s.
This magnificent blend begins with aromas of burning heather, toffee, nuts, cigar smoke, leather, raisins, broken orange pekoe tea leaves, fruit loaf, black licorice, allspice, and cinnamon. Truly classic Johnnie Walker with smooth, warming flavors of orange, brown sugar, barley sugar, and gentle harmonious spice, followed by dark toffee, vanilla pod, candied peel, sultana, prune juice, malt, and cocoa.
