Almenkerk Syrah 2013

The Almenkerk Wine Cellar is constructed against the mountainside with wonderful views over the Elgin Valley (Cool climate) and the Kogelberg Mountains south of the Stellenbosch wineregion. Aged for 24 months in exclusively French oak barrels. Almenkerk Wine Estate - Syrah 2013

In the glass a dark garnet red color. On the nose dark cherries, blackberries with hints of licorice. earthy and white pepper. On the palate full bodied with good structure and concentration. Flavours of dark plums, cherries and berries with fine grained tannins and a long lingering finish. A wine which will reward you cellaring for some years.
