Highland Park Fire and Ice Editions

Popular Scotch whisky distillery Highland Park, given its location in the extreme northern part of Scotland, seems to enjoy playing on the former Viking influences of the area.

Ice Edition (17 year old): The Ice Edition from Highland Park is a 17-Year-Old Single Malt inspired by the Norse myth of the Ice Giants’ battle against the gods to rule the world. The Highland Park Ice is a vatting of first fill ex-bourbon casks. The packaging includes a tinted glass bottle, designed to resemble an icy mountain and a wooden cradle. Matured for 17 years in 1st fill Bourbon casks and bottled in 2016 yielding 30,000 bottles. 

Fire Edition (15 year old): Whilst the Ice Edition focused on the frosty tall guys, Highland Park Fire Edition pays its homage to the Fire Giants who battled the gods of the Vikings. This 15-year-old single malt is put into “bespoke crimson red colored glass, which was specially commissioned to represent the fierce and molten world of the Fire Giants from Viking mythology. Matured in refill Port-seasoned casks and bottled in 2016 yielding 28,000 bottles.
