The Glenfiddich Grand Series is a collection of single malts that have been specially created to celebrate grand occasions. Each whisky in this series is crafted to bring together traditions from across the world, combining Scotch whisky with flavors from France, the Caribbean, and Japan. The series includes the following notable whiskies:
- Gran Reserva (21 year old): Finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum, offering a unique flavor profile.
- Grand Cortes XX11 (22 year old): as the name might suggest, a twenty-two-year-old Speyside single malt from the Scotch whisky giant that was finished in Spanish sherry casks, to create a Christmas cake profile that's utterly delicious.
- Grand Cru (23 year old): Finished in French oak casks that previously held fine wines, adding a delicate creaminess and citrus notes.
- Grande Couronne (26 year old): Finished in rare French cognac casks, featuring layers of sweet toasted oak, velvet café crème, soft brown sugar, and gentle spice.
-
Grand Yozakura (29 year old): Matures first in bourbon and new oak casks before a final finish in Japanese oak, named after the Japanese cherry blossom.
These whiskies are known for their exceptional quality and are perfect for toasting special occasions. They are available for purchase from various retailers, including online platforms and distillery shops -
Grand Grand Château (31 year old) An immensely impressive addition to the Grand Series from Glenfiddich, and the first release by the distillery that has been matured in red wine casks from the Bordeaux region of France! This limited edition single malt was initially aged in American and European oak before finishing its 31-year maturation with a generous nine-year stay in Bordeaux red wine casks. The resulting whisky boasts a distinct reddish hue, and gloriously indulgent layers of rich candied cherry, warming spice, and toasted oak.
