The Experimental Series from Glenfiddich is pretty much what it says on the tin! These are new, creative, unusual and exciting collaborations with trailblazers amongst the whisky world. Including a WORLD’S FIRST, one so secretive that even the experts didn’t know what they were creating
- Glenfiddich IPA Experiment The first experiment of it’s kind. Malt Master Brian Kinsman collaborated with Seb Jones, an entrepreneurial Speyside brewer, to create a new craft IPA. Brewed in bespoke craft IPA barrels, this malt is proof that remarkable feats can be achieved when great people get together, and that was the start of the experimental series.
- Glenfiddich Project XX 20 of the whisky industry’s most exceptional minds came together to create this truly unique, pioneering single malt expression. The Project XX experiment was so shrouded in secrecy that the whisky experts taking part didn’t even know about it until half way through the process! Given free reign of Conval Warehouse, each expert chose a malt which most intrigued them, including whiskies from port pipes, American oak, and bourbon barrels.
- Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Winter StormMalt Master Brian Kinsman travelled to Canada to meet a renowned winemaker in Niagara. There he learned how the grapes had to be picked by moonlight at -10˚C to produce the intensely sweet Ice-wine. Upon his return to the Glenfiddich Distillery Brian started experimenting with several French oak Ice-wine casks from the Canadian winery, filling them with different Glenfiddich aged malts for up to six months. Only the rarer whiskies, those aged for 21 years, could cope with the extra Ice-wine intensity.
- Glenfiddich Fire & Cane Glenfiddich Fire & Cane is a bold fusion of smoky and sweet notes. By marrying peated whisky and malts matured in bourbon barrels, and then finishing in Latin rum casks, they created an exquisite whisky with campfire smokiness and toffee sweetness.
- Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment The world’s first single malt whisky finished in Somerset Pomona spirit casks! Glenfiddich Orchard combines the Temperley’s and the Grant’s, makers of apple cider brandy and Scotch whisky, to create this exquisite whisky. Hand-selected Glenfiddich whiskies are finished in casks from the Somerset Cider Brandy Company, previously holding sweet Somerset Pomona.
