This expression is a tribute to the town’s history as a busy international shipping port. Located at the end of the Kintyre Peninsula, Campbeltown was a strategic hub of trade activity during the Victorian era. According to Glen Scotia: “Records as far back as 1815, before (Glen Scotia) founding, show casks of rum present and for sale in the local town.”
Double Cask Rum Finish is a unique twist on Glen Scotia’s popular Double Cask expression. The no age statement (NAS) whisky is distilled from 100% Scottish malted barley, matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and finished in Demerara rum casks. The whisky is bottled at 46% ABV.
A sweet, tropical Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia that was initially matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Guyanese demerara rum casks. Aromas of pineapple, mango, sea spray and burnt sugar fill the nose, complemented by notes of molasses, cooked sugar, coconut, banana, peach, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and sea salt throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.
