Johnnie Walker - Swing from Gold to Green to Blue

Johnnie Walker’s famous-colored labels have been walking across whisky shelves for over a century, but there’s more to these bottles than just fancy packaging. 

• Gold Label: Built around Clynelish’s distinctive spirit, positions itself as the luxury everyday dram. While pleasant enough with its honey-forward profile, it sits somewhat awkwardly in the range – neither as characterful as Green nor as prestigious as Blue.
• Green Label: this is a pure malt blend, crafted entirely from single malts with a guaranteed 15-year age statement. The combination of Talisker, Linkwood, Cragganmore, and Caol Isla creates a complexity that punches well. 
• Blue Label: At the apex of the range sits Blue Label. The moment you lift the bottle, you notice it – weighing nearly a kilogram more than its Red Label sibling, the hefty crystal decanter makes a statement before you’ve even poured a dram. Drawing from rare casks – reportedly just one in 10,000 makes the cut – it blends prestigious malts from Benrinnes, Cardhu, Clynelish, and Caol Ila, alongside carefully selected grain whiskies. Think of Blue Label as the Golf GTI of the whisky world – it’s a significant step up from the standard range, offering refinement and luxury within a specific scope. 
• Swing: Sir Alexander Walker, the grandson of John Walker, created Swing during the golden age of travel in 1932. On transatlantic voyages, bartenders desperately stowed loose bottles on racks to prevent breakages. The unrelenting pitch and roll of stormy weather on the high seas causing havoc with their whisky stocks. Johnnie Walker Swing’s unique glass decanter allowed it to swing back and forth on a convex base. The Johnnie Walker Swing is a blend of 35 whiskies with a high proportion of Speyside malts. These are complemented by malts from the northern Highlands and Islay. 

TASTING PROCESS

1. Private tasting with Charcuterie Board snacks
2. Available for groups of 4 to 8 people at a time
3. We can also cater for larger groups up to 20 people, with a tasting menu to be arranged
4. Full pre-payment before confirmation of booking - dates and times
5. Suitable dates will be provided for the tasting, which will take 2 hours maximum
6. All pouring per individual glass 25ml
