Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Heavily VOC: 01 2008 The Distillery Valinch

This heavily peated whisky from Bruichladdich is generally peated to 40ppm and is distilled in the same tall stills resulting in a spirit that has both power and elegance. Created to commemorate the Lochindaal distillery, originally called Port Charlotte, which closed in 1929, it was the first spirit distilled by the Murray McDavid team in 2001. One of the more recent offerings from Port Charlotte, this heavily peated malt has spent its entire term in Cognac casks from the western region of Cognac. There was just 390 bottles produced and has been bottled at a strength of 63.2% abv. as part of the Valinch range of bottlings.
