This is the first single malt release from this innovative Fife based distillery. A double matured delight from InchDairnie. The spirit was matured over a period of 8 years, first in refill American oak casks for five years, and then for three years in Amontillado casks. Gorgeously nutty and smoky.
Every winter at the distillery, this special recipe is followed for not even a full week. Made with Fife barley, heavily peated using Highland peat, and matured in Fife. We really enjoyed a balance of sweet, aromatic smoke on the nose, with lots of charred bread, dark chocolate and coffee on the palate. This release follows their inaugural release, Ryelaw, which is a fascinating Scottish grain whisky.
