The Singleton 18 year old

Singleton 18 Years Old is a wonderful single malt from the Dufftown distillery. The whisky matured for 18 years in refill bourbon barrels, imparting spices, and Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, bringing rich fruit notes. The result is an incredibly smooth and balanced whisky, with notes of stewed fruit, roasted nuts, dark toffee, cocoa bitterness, silky honey and sweet citrus. The Dufftown distillery, located in the eponymous ‘Whisky Capital of the World’ in Speyside, was founded in 1895 by Peter Mackenzie, Richard Stackpole, John Symon and Charles Macpherson. Dufftown was one of the distilleries acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1933, together with Blair Athol. To this day, Dufftown whisky is one of the main components of Bell’s famous blended whisky. The distillery operated its own traditional floor maltings until 1968, when they were discontinued. Dufftown is currently owned by Diageo and is one of the company’s largest distilleries.
