Auchentoshan The Bartender's Malt Edition 1

An interesting offering from Lowland distillery Auchentoshan, this bottling was created by 12 competition winning bartenders from five different countries. Coming as the culmination of the first “New Malt Order” cocktail competition, the whisky is a blend of the individual bottlings created by each of the winning entrants.

The whiskies used spanned over 40 years, the youngest of which were 6 years. A dizzying array of casks were used, including: rum casks, German oak, American oak, red wine barriques, and former Laphroaig casks (Beam-Suntory owns both Auchentoshan and Laphroaig)! As ever with Auchentoshan, this whisky was triple distilled.

The result is a delicately poised and complex single malt, with flavours of soft cherry, red wine, dried apricots, raisins, faint iodine and peat smoke, bright American oak, ginger, lime rind, tobacco smoke, milk chocolate, and some classic floral Auchentoshan flavours.
