Donkiesbaai Grenache Noir

Grenache Noir is sourced from unirrigated, bush vines from Piekenierskloof, approximately 80km from the West Coast. Minimal intervention winemaking is the philosophy here, with whole berry clusters being fermented spontaneously, in open top fermentation tanks. Maturation takes place in seasoned 500L French oak barrels.

Bright red fruit with distinct red cherry, cranberry & raspberry notes, backed up with sweet baking spices. The vibrant red fruit is complimented by a tangy acidity & balanced with cinnamon, freshly grated nutmeg and pink peppercorns. Notes of polished leather, clay brinks & hints of fennel add to the complex array of flavours in this otherwise light-bodied red. Delicate tannins play a supporting role, and the wine has a zesty cranberry finish
