Simonsig Wine Estate is synonymous with the history of the South African wine industry, the Stellenbosch wine region, and the Malan family name. These elements are intertwined in this family-owned farm, where the late Frans Malan produced the first bottle of our much-loved Kaapse Vonkel, South Africaʼs first Méthode Cap Classique made in the classic bottle-fermented style. 

A rare and exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stellenbosch region, where Simonsig estate has been making wines since 1953. This wine is made from grapes grown on a single vineyard that produces exceptionally low yields and high quality grapes. The wine is aged for 30 months in new French oak barrels, creating a wine with extraordinary depth and intensity. The wine has aromas of blackberry, cassis, and cedar, with a full-bodied and powerful palate that has firm tannins and a long finish. A magnificent wine to cellar for years or to indulge in with special occasions.
