The Legend of the Fiole bottle dates back to 1952 and a meeting between a Châteauneuf du Pape wine producer, BROTTE, and a renowned glass artist from the region. Together they came up with a bottle with a twisted shape, reminiscent of the old Grenache vines bent by the Mistral. Much more than just a bottle, it became the perfect container for a Châteauneuf du Pape fine wine. In a nod to his wife, Charles BROTTE, then a young wine négociant, named this wine after his father-in-law’s father, “Le Père Anselme”, a kindly and well-loved figure in the village. With its distinctive shape, La Fiole became an icon now found in over 120 countries around the world.
The La Fiole du Pap Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a delightful blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, showcasing a lavish aroma of matured dark berries, dried herbs, and delicate nuances of exotic spices. Indulge in the full-bodied opulence on the palate, where you will encounter a multitude of flavours including black cherry, plum, and a subtle hint of leather. The wine’s smooth tannins and perfectly balanced acidity contribute to a lingering finish that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression of sophistication.
