The Lagavulin 2024 11 Year Old Offerman 4th Edition does a lot of things right: it is smoke-centred, pleasantly fruity and typical Islay throughout. However, this is also its greatest weakness - it offers little that is new. The cask influences are subtle and the flavour surprises are limited. Anyone looking for a classic, well-made Islay whisky will be happy here. However, anyone hoping for a special Offerman note or a departure from the standard could find it interchangeable. A whisky for cold nights, campfires and deep conversations - but not a game changer in the Offerman series.
