Kilchoman Coull Point

Launched in 2013, Coull Point is the first Travel Retail Exclusive bottling from Kilchoman. The independent farm distillery was founded on Islay in 2005, making it the first new whisky distillery built on the island since 1881. The expression is named after a landmark near the Kilchoman distillery: ‘Coull Point’, a rugged headland just half a mile north of Machir Bay. Kilchoman Coull Point is a vatting of 4- and 5-year-old fresh ex-bourbon barrels, with the 4-year-old being finished in Oloroso sherry butts for 4 weeks. The result is a classic Islay malt that shows the benefit of additional ageing. The nose offers cooked fruits with strong peaty aromas. Soft mixed fruits and vanilla mingle with an intense sweetness. The finish is long and lingering.
