After 190 years, Torabhaig is the first new distillery on the Isle of Skye, which produces Single Malt. An old farmhouse was rebuilt for the distillery by the independent bottler Mossburn Distillers. To keep the classic charm and the history of the place, stones from the nearby castle ruin Camus were used.
The second release in Torabhaig's Legacy series single malt, Allt Gleann is a smoky whisky made with a small parcel of casks from 2017 and 2018, each filled with heavily-peated whisky. Aromas of heathery smoke, blossom honey, barley sugars and salty sea air fill the nose, complemented by notes of vanilla cream, bonfire smoke, hot tar, oily brine and sweet spices throughout the palate.
