Buitenverwachting Estate was founded 1773 when the Dutch owned the Cape, sailing ships, great adventure and some of the worlds finest vines. The valley of Constantia is picturesque, with wine farms in abundance surrounded by huge cliffs and mountains, surrounded by the ocean. This is why Simon Van Der Stel left Amsterdam.
